My visual journey of discovery on our field trip to Montgomery, AL. I feel the stereotypes and visions I have long preconceived are inaccurate. Growing up overseas, I feel stereotyping people, race, region or culture can be more harmful than good. Following my process of discovery and revolution in the Humanities Program I opened myself up to understand the harm that slavery and racial injustice, especially in the Deep South caused. It is also very important to understand, looking at aspects of humanity from Units 1 and 2, how this has affected American society and politics to the present day. This short video slideshow below is a compilation of my journey of discovery and revolution in understanding these important concepts. The contrast between pleasure and shock is articulated through the positioning of these photos and videos.
